  • God’s Greatest Message to Man

No verse in the Bible speaks more clearly to what God has done for all of mankind than John 3:16. John 3:16 is the gospel in a nutshell. As the apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians he asked that they would comprehend the love of God. (Ephesians 3:18-19) He wanted them to comprehend what was the width and length and depth and height, to know the love of Christ. If we look closer at John 3:16 we can better comprehend just how much God does love us.

“For God so loved the world” is the width of His love. His love is for everyone everywhere. The children’s song has it right as were taught to sing Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the WORLD. Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight. Jesus love the little children of the WORLD.

“That He GAVE His Only Begotten Son” is the length of His love. Great love has no man than He lay down His life for another. Christ GAVE His life so we could HAVE life.
Galatians 1:3 says, “Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who GAVE Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,”
1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel…3 that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

“That whoever believes in Him should not perish” is the depth of His love.
Romans 5:6 “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly”

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” The words ungodly and sinners represent all the wickedness and unrighteousness and filthiness of mankind. No sinner has gone too far from His reach to keep them from perishing!

“But have everlasting life” is the height of His love. He takes the person deserving and destined for hell who believes in His Son and gives them a home with Him in heaven for all eternity!

John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

John 1:11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:” Have you received, believed and been born again?

  • A Special Announcement About March316

Would you share John 3:16 on 3/16?

I would like to present an idea to you regarding March 16th, 2025. As I looked ahead to the calendar year of 2025, I noticed several things. First, Easter for 2025 is April 20th, which is a very late date. Then, looking back to February, there is Valentine’s Day on Friday, February 14th. Then I looked at March. I saw that March 16th (3/16) is on a Sunday, and it immediately got my attention.  Without question, anytime I see or hear 3/16, I think of John 3:16.  I felt a very strong urging of the Holy Spirit to write out the question, “What would happen if every pastor, preacher, teacher, evangelist, etc. preached their very best John 3:16 message on March 16th (3/16), 2025?” This question led to action, and we launched “March316” as a movement to see this happen.

What would happen if, on March 16th (3/16), we were intentionally sharing God’s greatest message to all mankind? What if the March316 movement was used by God?

So I put the question to you. What could happen if every pastor in the world would, on Sunday, March 16th (3/16), preach John 3:16 and let the world hear God’s greatest message to mankind?  The message of “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

I ask that you pray with me that this idea of every pastor in the world preaching John 3:16 on March 16th (3/16), 2025, would have favor. Many have already heard about this idea, with some hearing it from other sources, not just Date the Word, and are now making plans to preach John 3:16.

Secondly, would you share this idea with your pastor as well as others who can also share it? Our website, March316.com, has information for pastors and preachers on our vision for March316.

Thirdly, If you are a pastor, would you, today, look at your preaching calendar and consider preaching John 3:16 on March 16th (3/16)?

Our website, March316.com, gives the appeal and is being developed to share ideas and resources for March 16th. If you decide to participate, you can sign up for more information.

We would love to see this become a movement of mass evangelism. I, personally, would love to see March 16th (3/16) become an international day of evangelism where every believer is encouraged to share John 3:16 with at least one unbeliever on March 16th every year.

March 16th, (3/16) 2025, is exactly six months away. With some thoughtful planning, it could be one of the greatest days of evangelism in church history.

    A March to Remember

For March 16, let us remember Psalm 22:16.  Psalm 22:16 says, “For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet;”

Let us remember the gruesome details of the horrible death of the Savior told hundreds of years before it happened as it told very piercing of His hands and His feet.

On March 16 we encourage you to read Matthew 16 and Psalm 16 to remember that He will build His church and that He predicted His death and resurrection, a resurrection predicted in Psalm 16.

  • Verse to DATE the Word on March 16 (3/16) is John 3:16

Verse to DATE the Word on March 16 (3/16) is John 3:16

Our verse to DATE the Word on March 16 (3/16) is John 3:16
John 3:16 says,  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

HIS LOVE IS SEEN IN THAT HE GAVE HIS LIFE TO SAVE YOUR LIFE

Where does one even begin and what does one even say as one looks at the greatest words ever spoken and written? Before us is “the golden text” of Scripture. It is the “greatest verse” in all of the Bible.  It is the summation of the entire message of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.  It has within it the deepest and most profound theological truths in which a theologian can write volumes on each word yet these 25 words are so simple and easy to read and understand that a 3-year-old can know that God loves them and can save them.

    What should we know and understand from this verse?  I humbly submit we know and understand the LOVE of God.  To DATE John 3:16 is to understand and comprehend the LOVE of God.  The apostle Paul prayed that we would comprehend the LOVE of God in Ephesians 3 starting at verse 17.  He prayed, “that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height — 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge;

If I want to comprehend the love of Christ and the width of that love and the length of that love and the depth of that love and the height of that love I only have to look at what Jesus said in John 3:16.  Notice how wide and long and deep and high is God’s love for you!

“For God so loved the world” is the width of His love.  His love is for everyone everywhere.  All humanity from sea to sea and from continent to continent is LOVED by God.  Jesus loves ALL the children of the world.  Red and yellow black and white they are PRECIOUS in His sight!   As His hands were stretched out on the cross it symbolized Him reaching around the world.  His commission is to take the gospel to the world, to the ENDS OF THE EARTH!  How wide is the LOVE of God?  His love is for everyone everywhere who has done everything wrong and against Him.  How wide is the LOVE of God?   It is demonstrated to us in that while we were SINNERS Christ died FOR US – for the ENTIRE WORLD OF SINNERS.

“That He gave His Only Begotten Son” is the length of His love. The grave penalty for sin is death.  Sin must be punished.  To satisfy the wrath of God there had to be a perfect sacrifice.   Though He had created the universe with all the various elements there was not one thing that could redeem a man.  Peter explained it this way in 1 Peter 1:18 saying, “knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”

Micah asked the rhetorical question “With what shall I come before the LORD, And bow myself before the High God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, With calves a year old? 7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, Ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”  (Micah 6:6-7)

There is nothing in God’s created world that can save sinful man.  So, God has to go the full length of love and give what is most precious to Him and He GIVES His only begotten Son.

“That whoever believes in Him should not perish” is the depth of His love.  Romans 5:6 “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  Ungodly and sinners represent all the wickedness and unrighteousness and filthiness of mankind.  His love reaches to the vilest of all and pulls them out of the pit of iniquity.  There is no sinner that has gone too far from His reach to keep them from perishing!

“But have everlasting life” is the height of His love.  He takes the one doomed, destined and deserving of hell who believes in His Son and gives them a home with Him in heaven for all eternity!
Verse to DATE the Word on March 16 (3/16) is John 3:16. It says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

God loves you!  He loves you and everyone in the world.  He loves you even though you are a filthy sinner to GIVE His Only Son for you. He will give His life so He can give you life!  He so loves you He will change your eternal destination from hell to heaven if you will believe!
